RTL is German television network owned by RTL Deutschland. The channel broadcasts news, entertainment, lifestyle, reality-shows, series, movies and sports programmings.
RTL was launched on 2nd January 1984 as RTLplus. Launch of the broadcast for news, entertainment and movies.
On 19th November 1985, RTLplus was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st January 1988, RTLplus was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 31st October 1992, RTLplus is renamed as RTL. The new idents were created by GRFX/Novocom.
On 14th September 1995, RTL was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 17th November 1999, RTL was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st January 2004, RTL was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed created by Novocom.
On 31st August 2008, RTL was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 19th November 2008, RTL switched to 16:9 image format.
On 1st November 2009, RTL stopped its 4:3 image format then became a full 16:9 image format and was launched in high-definition version.
On 28th August 2014, RTL was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 1st September 2017, RTL was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
On 28th April 2018, RTL was launched in ultra high-definition version.
On 6th January 2021, RTL was rebranded with the new idents were changed.
On 15th September 2021, RTL was rebranded with the new logo and idents were changed.
